Two girls, two boys, and two adults were killed when their Chevrolet Suburban was struck by a stolen truck being driven by Hector Ramirez, 18, during a high-speed chase on August 14, 2013. The truck accident happened near the town of Mission, Texas along the Mexican border.
Ramirez was driving a stolen truck, and was being pursued by state highway patrol, when he sped through a busy intersection and struck the Suburban.
Ramirez attempted to flee the scene of the truck crash, but was quickly captured while being pursued on foot. Ramirez was taken to a local hospital where he remains. Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety have stated that Ramirez will be criminally charged upon his release from the hospital.
Ramirez stole the truck from a resident of Alton, Texas, which is just north of Mission.
