One Dead After Crash Involving Freightliner Truck Rear-Ending Parked Dump Truck On Indiana Interstate 65.

Any motor vehicle accident has the potential to leave the victims either substantially injured or possibly dead. This becomes even more true when trucks collide. The size of trucks and the speed that trucks travel at now on highways and interstates means they have the potential to do a significant amount of damage in an instant. Victims involved in truck accidents may not be sure of what to do or how to begin to recover for the damages caused. This is why victims should turn to one of the experienced motor vehicle attorney experts at our Boston law firm to help guide them through this complicated litigation process.

Indiana State Police have identified a driver of a semi-truck who died in an early-morning accident on Interstate 65 just north of the Tipton Street exit in Seymour, Indiana. Trooper Korry Clark said Jame H. Foster, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, died in the accident when his 2014 Freightliner, truck pulling a box trailer, traveling southbound collided with an Indiana Department of Transportation dump truck on the interstate.

Clark and an Indiana State Police crash reconstruction team determined the semi, which was traveling in the right-hand lane, did not change lanes to avoid an INDOT 2008 International dump truck parked in the right lane of southbound I-65.

The INDOT truck was unoccupied and was providing lane blockage for crews who were doing repairs to the I-65 overpass over US 50. The INDOT dump truck had red and yellow flashing lights, as well as a flashing arrow board operating at the time of the crash. After the semi hit the INDOT truck, Foster lost control of the vehicle it overturned and came to rest partially on the roadway. Foster was pronounced dead at the scene by Jackson County Coroner Michael Bobb. No other injuries were reported. Foster, who drove for Summit Trucking, was hauling about 35,000 pounds of frozen food when the crash occurred.
