33 year-old Brian Scott Jonelis was driving a truck on Route 50 when he attempted to take an exit ramp early Monday morning. Instead, he hit a guard rail.
Both Jonelis and his female passenger were ejected from the truck, as it flipped over several times.
Jonelis’s legs were pinned underneath the truck, which then caught fire. A bystander attempted to move Jonelis, but he was unable to do so.
Jonelis died at the scene of the truck accident.
The female passenger was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, and is currently being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
